Is it any good?
The V80 is vivo's newest mid-range camera phone, aimed at people who take a lot of portraits and would like to charge as rarely as possible. It starts at ₹62,999 for 8GB + 128GB and runs to ₹79,999 for 8GB + 512GB, with every version on 8GB of RAM.
The money buys a 7,200 mAh battery, the biggest in the V series, with 90W charging, a 6.59-inch 144Hz screen, a 50MP 3x telephoto next to a 50MP main camera (both stabilised) and 4K video at 60fps. It ships with Android 17, and vivo promises six years of security updates.
The catch is the chip. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 is the same one as in the ₹59,999 V70, while the V70 Elite at ₹66,999 gets the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. The V80 is the better-rounded phone, but 128GB of storage is not much for a phone that shoots 4K video, so the ₹69,999 model is the one to look at.
