Is it any good?
The Phone (4a) is Nothing's middle child. It starts at ₹36,999 for 6GB + 128GB, and its reason to exist is a 50MP periscope camera with 3.5x optical zoom. It suits people who photograph things they can't walk closer to: stages, pets, children who refuse to pose.
Over the ₹29,999 Phone (3a) Pro, which also has a periscope lens, the extra ₹7,000 buys a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 instead of a 7s Gen 3, a sharper 1.5K screen rated at 4,500 nits instead of 3,000, and a 5,400 mAh battery instead of 5,000 mAh. Nothing promises 3 OS updates, and a case and screen protector come in the box.
The catch is NFC: the Indian Phone (4a) has none, so no tap-to-pay, while the cheaper Phone (3a) Pro does. The bigger versions make little sense either. The 12GB + 256GB model is ₹48,999, just ₹1,000 below the Phone (4a) Pro, which adds a 144Hz screen and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. Buy the base model or go Pro.
