Which vivo phone should you buy at each budget?
Buy the T5 5G up to about ₹40,000, the V80 up to about ₹70,000, and the X300 FE above that. Skip the phones in the last column of the table: each one has a cheaper or newer vivo that does the job better.

Is the vivo T5 5G the best value vivo?
Yes. The vivo T5 5G costs ₹34,999 for 6GB + 128GB and has a 6.83-inch 144Hz AMOLED screen rated at 3,000 nits by vivo, a 50MP main camera with stabilisation, an 8MP ultrawide, IP68 and IP69 ratings and a 7,050 mAh battery. vivo promises three Android updates and five years of security updates.
The catch is charging, which tops out at 44W, and there is no NFC. If you charge overnight, neither matters. The 12GB version at ₹49,999 is poor value: it costs ₹5,000 more than the base vivo V70 FE, which has a 200MP camera.
Should you buy the vivo T5x 5G or pay more for the T5 5G?
Buy the vivo T5x 5G only in its cheapest version. At ₹27,999 it gives you a 7,200 mAh battery, IP68 and IP69 ratings and a Dimensity 7400-Turbo. It has an LCD screen, not AMOLED, a depth sensor instead of an ultrawide, and two Android updates.
The trap is the top version. On our page, the T5x’s 8GB + 256GB costs ₹34,999, exactly what the vivo T5 5G costs for its base version. At that price, take the T5 5G.
| Version | vivo T5x 5G | vivo T5 5G |
|---|---|---|
| 6GB + 128GB | ₹27,999 | ₹34,999 |
| 8GB + 128GB | ₹30,999 | ₹39,999 |
| 8GB + 256GB | ₹34,999 | ₹44,999 |
| Screen | 6.76-inch 120Hz LCD | 6.83-inch 144Hz AMOLED |
| Android updates promised | 2 | 3 |
Is the vivo T5 Pro 5G or S2 FE better for battery?
The vivo T5 Pro 5G is the better buy. At ₹36,999 it has a 9,020 mAh battery with 90W charging and a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. The vivo S2 FE costs ₹38,999 for a 10,000 mAh battery, the biggest vivo sells, but charges at only 44W and comes only with 128GB storage. Those battery sizes are vivo’s ratings; no independent battery test of either has been published yet.
Both give up an ultrawide camera for a 2MP depth sensor, and vivo’s India pages state no update promise for either. If that bothers you, the vivo T5 5G at ₹2,000 less has the ultrawide and the promise. See the two side by side on our compare page.
Which V series phone is worth buying?
The vivo V80. At ₹62,999 for 8GB + 128GB it has a 7,200 mAh battery, a 6.59-inch 144Hz screen rated at 5,000 nits, and a 50MP 3x telephoto next to a 50MP main camera. vivo promises six years of security updates. The ₹69,999 version with 256GB is the one to pick, because 128GB is thin for a phone that shoots 4K video at 60fps.

The older vivo V70 costs ₹59,999, only ₹3,000 less, and has a smaller 6,500 mAh battery and a 120Hz screen. It is a poor trade unless one of its colours wins you over. You can see the two side by side here.
The vivo V70 FE at ₹44,999 is for people who want V series looks and a 200MP main camera. It has no telephoto, an 8MP ultrawide and a screen rated at 1,900 nits, against 5,000 nits on the V70. The 7,000 mAh battery and 90W charging are good. For most people, the T5 5G, ₹10,000 cheaper, is the smarter spend.
Which vivo flagship should you buy?
Buy the vivo X300 FE, a compact flagship with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a 6.31-inch screen and a 191g body. It starts at ₹89,999, and the 12GB + 256GB version at ₹94,999 is worth the extra ₹5,000 on a phone vivo promises to update five times. The ultrawide is only 8MP, which looks odd next to two 50MP cameras.
The vivo X Fold6 at ₹2,19,999 is a ₹2 lakh-plus bet. It is vivo’s most expensive India phone, and vivo has not published how many Android updates it will get.
Is the vivo Y400 5G worth buying?
No. The vivo Y400 5G costs ₹31,999 for 8GB + 128GB, runs Android 15 and has a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, the entry-level chip also used in a ₹26,999 vivo. The vivo T5x 5G costs ₹4,000 less and has a faster chip and bigger battery. Its AMOLED screen and 90W charging are its only edges, and the T5 5G has a better screen anyway.
