Is it any good?
The Y51 Pro 5G is the toughened, big-battery phone at the top of vivo's Y series, aimed at buyers who rate durability above a fancy screen. It costs ₹34,999 for 8GB + 128GB and ₹37,999 for 8GB + 256GB, in Festive Red and Noble Gold.
The money buys a 7,200 mAh battery with 44W charging, a Dimensity 7360-Turbo (the same chip as in the S2 and V70 FE), IP68 and IP69 ratings and 4K video from the 50MP main camera. It shares its body, battery and 219g weight with the cheaper Y31t 5G.
The catch is the price against vivo's own range. The screen is a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD and the selfie camera is 8MP, while the T5x 5G costs ₹4,000 less for the same 8GB + 128GB and brings a sharper Full HD+ screen, the same size battery, a 32MP selfie camera and 4K video on both sides. On paper, the T5x is the better deal.
