Is it any good?
The Y21 5G is a basic 5G phone with a big battery, for people who want something simple for calls, video and the family WhatsApp group. It starts at ₹20,999 for 4GB + 64GB and goes up to ₹27,999 for 6GB + 128GB, in Champagne Gold and Midnight Blue.
The money buys a 6,500 mAh battery with 44W charging, a Dimensity 6300, a 6.74-inch 120Hz LCD rated at 1,200 nits, a 50MP main camera, IP65 protection and a hybrid microSD slot. It runs OriginOS 6 on Android 16.
The catch is the screen, an HD+ panel that is soft by today's standards, and the price creep. The 6GB model costs ₹27,999, the same as the Y31 5G with IP69 and Guardian Glass, and the T5 Lite 44W 5G offers the same chip, battery and charging from ₹17,999. The 4GB + 64GB Y21 is the only version that makes much sense.
