Y05

The Y05 is vivo's entry-level Y series phone, sold in one version, 4GB + 64GB, at ₹15,999, in Champagne Gold and Midnight Blue. It is for people who want a large, simple phone for calls, messages and video, and do not need 5G.

The money buys a 6,500 mAh battery, a 6.74-inch 120Hz screen rated at 1,200 nits, IP65 protection, a microSD slot for cards up to 2TB and OriginOS 6 on Android 16.

The catch is everything else: a Unisoc T7225 chip, an 8MP rear camera and 15W charging, which makes topping up 6,500 mAh a slow business. The T5e uses the same chip and costs ₹2,000 less, and the T4 Lite 5G adds 5G and a 50MP camera for ₹1,000 more. The Y05 sits in an awkward gap between them.
