POCO's cheapest phone covers the basics, but stops at 4G.

Our take

Is it any good?

The C71 is POCO's cheapest phone: ₹8,999 for 4GB + 64GB, with a 6.88-inch 120Hz screen and a 5,200 mAh battery. It comes in Desert Gold, Cool Blue and Power Black.

It runs a Unisoc T7250, keeps a 3.5mm headphone jack, and takes a microSD card of up to 1TB in its own slot, so storage is easy to add. It weighs 193 g, uses a 32MP dual camera with an 8MP selfie camera, and the screen reaches 600 nits. Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 cover the basics.

The catch is 4G only and 15W charging. ₹2,000 more buys the C75, which adds 5G; for everything else the C71 covers the basics. POCO promises two Android updates and four years of security fixes.
