Which realme phone to buy in India: the P4 Pro 5G is the pick
The realme P4 Pro 5G at ₹28,999 is the best-value realme in India today. Here is which realme to buy at every budget, and four to skip, on today's prices.

The Synap verdict
Buy the realme P4 Pro 5G at ₹28,999. Pay more only for a bigger battery (P4 Power 5G) or a telephoto camera (16 Pro+ 5G).
Buy it if
You want the best-value realme, with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, 144Hz AMOLED and 80W charging for under ₹30,000
Skip it if
You want a long update promise, since realme publishes none for the P4 Pro 5G
Buy the realme P4 Pro 5G. At ₹28,999 for 8GB + 128GB it is the realme to pick in India right now: a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, a 6.8-inch 144Hz AMOLED screen, a 7,000 mAh battery and 80W charging. Spend less only if your budget is under ₹22,000, and spend more only for a telephoto camera or a flagship chip. Prices below are from The Synap’s phone pages on 31 October 2026.

Which realme phone should you buy in India?
Pick by what you want to pay, not by series name. realme sells 34 phones on our pages and many of them overlap, so the table below gives one pick per need.

| Under ₹22,000, faster charging | realme NARZO 90x 5G | ₹21,499 (6GB + 128GB) | 60W charging, 7,000 mAh battery |
| ₹29,000 to ₹33,000 (best value) | realme P4 Pro 5G | ₹28,999 (8GB + 128GB) | Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, 144Hz AMOLED, 80W charging |

Is the realme P4 Pro 5G the best-value realme?
Yes. On paper it gives the most for the money in realme’s range: the realme P4 Pro 5G pairs the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 with a 6.8-inch 144Hz AMOLED screen rated at 6,500 nits peak, a 7,000 mAh battery and 80W charging, as realme lists them. The main camera is a stabilised 50MP Sony sensor, and the front camera is 50MP, with 4K video at 60fps on both.
Take the 256GB version if you can. Going from 128GB to 256GB costs ₹2,000 on the P4 Pro, which is cheap for doubling the storage.
| Version | Price | Step up |
|---|---|---|
| 8GB + 128GB | ₹28,999 | Base |
| 8GB + 256GB | ₹30,999 | +₹2,000 |
| 12GB + 256GB | ₹32,999 | +₹4,000 |
Its flaws are specific. It is rated IP65 and IP66, so it handles splashes and jets but not a dunk. The second camera is a basic 8MP ultrawide. realme publishes no update promise for it. No independent battery or camera test has been published that we can point you to, so treat the battery and camera claims as realme’s.

Which realme has the biggest battery?
The realme P4 Power 5G has a 10,001 mAh battery with 80W charging at ₹32,999 for 8GB + 128GB, the largest battery realme sells, as claimed by the maker. It also comes with a promise of 3 Android OS updates, which few realme phones have. The price is weight: 219g and 9.08mm thick.
If that is too much phone, the realme P4s 5G is 208g with an 8,000 mAh battery, 80W charging and the same 3-update promise for ₹34,999. It costs ₹2,000 more than the P4 Power for 2,001 mAh less. Our realme P4 Power 5G vs realme P4 Pro 5G page puts the two side by side. On the P4 Pro, the 12GB + 256GB version costs ₹32,999, the same as the P4 Power’s base version.
Which realme is best for cameras?
The realme 16 Pro+ 5G at ₹53,999 for 8GB + 128GB, because it is realme’s most capable camera below the GT 8 Pro: a 50MP 3.5x stabilised telephoto next to a 200MP main camera. The cheaper realme 16 Pro 5G is ₹44,999 and has a 200MP main camera but only an 8MP ultrawide and no telephoto, so for ₹9,000 less you give up the zoom and the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.

Be honest with yourself about the money. At ₹53,999 the 16 Pro+ 5G is ₹19,000 more than the P4s 5G, and its camera is the only reason to pay it. Above it sits the realme GT 8 Pro at ₹72,999 for 12GB + 256GB: a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 200MP 3x periscope camera and wireless charging, but also 218g and no published update policy at that price.
Which realme phones should you skip?
Skip any realme that costs more than a better realme. These four lose to a sibling on today’s prices.
| Phone | Price | Why it is poor value |
|---|---|---|
| realme 16x 5G | ₹28,999 (4GB + 128GB) | Same chip, screen and battery as the ₹21,499 NARZO 90x 5G, with slower 45W charging |
| realme 16 5G | ₹41,999 (8GB + 128GB) | A rear selfie mirror and a Dimensity 6400 Turbo; the P4s 5G is ₹34,999 |
| realme P4 5G | ₹30,999 (8GB + 128GB) | The P4 Pro 5G’s 256GB version costs the same |
| realme P4x 5G | ₹26,999 (6GB + 128GB) | LCD screen, 45W charging and IP64 only; the P4 5G adds AMOLED for ₹4,000 |
The cheapest realme worth a look is different. The realme P4R 5G (₹20,999 for 4GB + 64GB) and the realme NARZO 100x 5G (₹20,999 for 4GB + 64GB) are the same phone in different colours, with an 8,000 mAh battery and 4GB of RAM in the cheaper versions. If you charge daily and want speed, the realme NARZO 90x 5G at ₹21,499 for 6GB + 128GB has 60W charging. The realme C85 5G at ₹21,999 adds IP69K and NFC but has only 4GB of RAM.
How long will a realme phone get updates?
Not long, and mostly unpromised. Of the phones above, only the P4 Power 5G and P4s 5G carry a 3-update promise on their pages; the realme 16x 5G has 2, and the P4 Pro 5G, 16 Pro+ 5G and GT 8 Pro have none published. For how that compares across brands, see our guide to update years in India. If you keep phones for four years, that is a reason to look at other makers; our POCO guide covers a rival at similar prices.
