The Synap verdict

Buy the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion in 12GB + 256GB for ₹34,999. Skip the Edge 70 Max: the Signature costs ₹5,000 more and adds the zoom lens.

Buy it if

You want the best-value Motorola, with a 7,000 mAh battery, a 144Hz screen and three OS updates from ₹30,999

Skip it if

You play demanding games for hours, where the Edge 70 Pro's Dimensity 8500 Extreme chip is the better buy

How we test

The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion is the Motorola to buy for most people in India: ₹30,999 for 8GB + 128GB, a 7,000 mAh battery, an IP68 and IP69 rating and three promised Android updates. Spend less only if you need to, and spend more only for a specific reason, such as a zoom lens or seven years of updates. Prices below are today’s starting prices on The Synap, checked on 26 October 2026.

Which Motorola phone should most people buy?

Buy the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion in its 12GB + 256GB version. It costs ₹34,999, which is ₹4,000 more than the base 8GB + 128GB at ₹30,999, and it doubles the storage while adding 4GB of RAM, according to its page. The 12GB + 512GB version at ₹36,999 is poor value unless you keep large video libraries on the phone.

The case for the Edge 70 Fusion is the combination: a 6.8-inch 144Hz AMOLED screen, a 7,000 mAh battery in a 7.99 mm body, 68W charging and NFC for UPI taps. The catch is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, a mid-range chip. If you play demanding games for hours, the Edge 70 Pro below is the better chip.

Is a cheap Motorola G-series phone worth buying?

Yes, but pick the right one, and skip the Moto G06 Power. At ₹13,999 it has a 7,000 mAh battery, but it is 4G only, charges at 18W and, per its page, gets zero Android version upgrades and security updates only until October 2027. For ₹2,500 more, the Moto G37 Power at ₹16,499 adds 5G and 30W charging.

Watch the storage steps. The Moto G37 Power’s 64GB base is small, and the 4GB + 128GB at ₹19,499 is the sensible version. Its 8GB + 128GB at ₹24,249 is poor value: it sits only ₹750 below the Moto G Max at ₹24,999, which has a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip and two promised OS updates against one. The Moto G77 Power (₹21,249) adds a Full HD+ screen and an ultrawide camera, but it uses the same Dimensity 6400 chip as the ₹15,499 Moto G37, so pay for the screen, not for speed.

Edge 60 Fusion or Edge 70 Fusion: which is better value?

The Motorola Edge 60 Fusion is better value if you buy on price: ₹29,999 gets 12GB + 256GB, which costs ₹34,999 on the Edge 70 Fusion. The newer phone is worth the ₹5,000 for its 7,000 mAh battery against 5,500 mAh, its 144Hz screen against 120Hz and a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip against a Dimensity 7400. Both are rated IP68 and IP69 and both are promised three OS updates, but the Edge 60 Fusion launched in March 2025, so its updates run out sooner.

What does each step up the Edge range buy you?

Each step is ₹5,000 to ₹9,000 and buys one clear thing. The jump from the Edge 70 Fusion to the Edge 70 Pro is the biggest at ₹9,000, and it is mostly about speed and charging, not cameras.

Phone Starting price Step up What you gain What you still lack
Motorola Edge 70 Fusion ₹30,999 7,000 mAh, 68W, 144Hz Mid-range chip
Motorola Edge 70 Pro ₹39,999 ₹9,000 Dimensity 8500 Extreme, 90W, 50MP ultrawide No telephoto, no wireless charging
Motorola Edge 70 Pro Plus ₹47,999 ₹8,000 3.5x periscope, 15W wireless charging Slow wireless speed
Motorola Edge 70 Max ₹54,999 ₹7,000 Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 7,100 mAh, 25W wireless 8MP ultrawide, no zoom lens
Motorola Signature ₹59,999 ₹5,000 Three 50MP cameras with 3x zoom, seven OS updates 5,200 mAh battery
Starting prices in India from The Synap’s phone pages, checked 26 October 2026. Step up is the extra over the row above.

The Motorola Edge 70 Max is the weakest value of the five. It asks ₹54,999 for the fastest chip and biggest battery, but pairs the 50MP main camera with an 8MP ultrawide and no zoom lens. For ₹5,000 more, the Signature has all three cameras. The Edge 70 Pro Plus is the sweet spot if zoom matters and your limit is ₹50,000, as its page shows: the ₹5,000 premium over the Edge 70 Pro buys the periscope lens.

Should you buy the Motorola Signature or wait for the Signature 27?

Buy the Motorola Signature now only if the price and the seven-year update promise are what you want. Motorola has confirmed the Motorola Signature 27 for India, with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, but has given no date or price, and our launch tracker lists it as date not announced. If you can wait, you will see the real price before choosing; if you cannot, the Signature is a fine phone today. No independent review of either phone has been published here, so the figures above are Motorola’s specifications.

Which Motorola phones get the longest updates?

The Signature and the Motorola Razr Fold (₹1,49,999) get seven OS updates. The Edge 70 series and the Edge 60 Fusion get three. The Moto G Max gets two, the G37 Power and G77 Power one, and the G06 Power none. If you keep phones for four or five years, that spread matters more than any spec. Our update-years explainer shows how other brands compare.
