Is it any good?
The Crest Max 5G is HMD's mid-tier repairable offering for India, sold in a single 8GB + 256GB configuration for ₹16,499. It is for buyers who put selfies, clean software, and self-repair support.
For ₹16,499, buyers receive a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED panel, 256GB of storage, and a triple rear camera setup featuring a 64MP primary sensor, a 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens. Selfies are handled by a 50MP sensor, while a 5,000 mAh battery charges at 33W. HMD designed the back cover, battery and screen to be replaced at home.
The downside is the Unisoc T760 chipset, which trails competing processors in heavy gaming tasks. HMD's two years of security updates ended in July 2026 and it never promised an Android upgrade, so it stays on Android 14 with no further fixes.
