Is it any good?
The Vibe2 5G is HMD's budget 5G phone for India, at ₹13,999 for 4GB + 128GB. It is for someone who wants a big battery, 5G and the current version of Android for not much money, and whose day is mostly calls, chats, videos and a lot of scrolling.
The money buys a 6.75-inch 120Hz screen, a Unisoc T8200 chip, a 6,000 mAh battery and a 50MP main camera, with an 8MP camera for selfies. It ships with Android 16, takes a microSD card of up to 1TB, and HMD puts a charger, a case and a screen protector in the box, so there is nothing extra to buy on day one. The 6GB version costs ₹14,999.
The catch is the screen and the support. The panel is HD+, which is a low resolution to stretch across 6.75 inches, and 18W is slow charging for a 6,000 mAh battery. HMD also promises security patches every quarter for two years and no new versions of Android, so treat Android 16 as the version this phone keeps.
