Our take

Is it any good?

The realme Pad 3 is the newest tablet in realme’s India range and the only one not built on the Helio G99 chip. It costs ₹31,999 for 8GB + 128GB, which is ₹12,000 more than the Pad 2, and it is aimed at students and readers who want one big screen for notes, books and films.

The money buys an 11.61-inch 2.8K screen at 120Hz in a 7:5 shape, closer to a sheet of paper than the wide screens on realme’s older tablets, so documents and two-page spreads fill more of it. The MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Max replaces the Helio G99 that both older models use, and the 12,200 mAh battery is 3,840 mAh bigger than the Pad 2’s, with 45W charging. The body is 6.6 mm thin and weighs 578 g.

The catch is connectivity. In India it comes only as a Wi-Fi model, so there is no SIM slot for mobile data, and the realme Smart Pen costs ₹2,999 extra. If you need data on the move, the Pad 2 has a 4G version at ₹19,999, on a much slower chip.
