Is it any good?
The Tab Plus Gen 2 is a tablet for watching rather than working. A kickstand that turns all the way round is built into the back, the speakers come from JBL, and a clear case comes in the box. It costs ₹31,998 for 8GB + 128GB and ₹34,999 for 8GB + 256GB, both Wi-Fi only.
The money buys a 12.1-inch 2.5K LCD at 120Hz with an 800 nits peak, HDR10 and Dolby Vision, and a nine-unit JBL system of four tweeters, three woofers and two passive radiators. The MediaTek Dimensity 7400 is a step up from the chips in the Idea Tab and Idea Tab Plus, the 10,200 mAh battery charges at 45W, and it is rated IP52 against dust and dripping water. Lenovo promises upgrades to Android 18 and security patches until 2030.
The catch is the shape. At 760 g it is far heavier than the 530 g Idea Tab Plus with the same screen size, and the speaker housing makes it 22.7 mm deep at its thickest, so this is a tablet for a table, not a bag. There is no keyboard cover and the pen costs extra. For note-taking, the Idea Tab Plus costs ₹1,001 more with 256GB, 5G and a pen in the box.
