Our verdict

Nine JBL speaker units and a built-in kickstand: a tablet for films, not work.

Our take

Is it any good?

The Moto Pad 70 Groove is Motorola's entertainment tablet, and it wears that on its back: a big round speaker with a metal kickstand that swings all the way round it. It is for people who mostly watch, listen and video call, and it costs ₹35,999 for 8GB + 128GB or ₹38,999 for 8GB + 256GB.

The money buys a 9-unit JBL system (four tweeters, three woofers and two passive radiators) tuned with Dolby Atmos, a 12.1-inch 2.5K screen at up to 120Hz and a 10,200 mAh battery with a 68W charger in the box. The MediaTek Dimensity 7400 is a sensible middle chip, and the tablet can also play your phone's music as a Bluetooth speaker.

The catch is everything that speaker costs. It makes the Groove 775 g and 22.7 mm thick at the bump, there is no pen or keyboard support, and it is Wi-Fi only. For ₹7,000 more, the Moto Pad 70 Pro has a faster chip, a sharper 13-inch screen and a pen in the box.
