Our take

Is it any good?

The Redmi Pad 2 Pro is Xiaomi’s big-screen tablet for films, study and video calls. It costs ₹27,999 for 8GB + 128GB with Wi-Fi, ₹29,999 for the same with 5G, and ₹32,999 for 8GB + 256GB with 5G.

The money buys a 12.1-inch 2.5K screen at up to 120Hz, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, four speakers with Dolby Atmos and a 12,000 mAh battery with 33W charging. It can also charge other gadgets over USB-C at 27W, and the 5G version gets a 13MP rear camera against 8MP on the Wi-Fi one.

The catch is bulk: at 610-620 g it is the heaviest tablet in Xiaomi’s Indian range, and 33W is slow for a battery this big. If you want more speed in a lighter body, the Xiaomi Pad 8 starts at ₹35,999 with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 at 485 g, though it is Wi-Fi only.
