Our take

Is it any good?

The Idea Tab is the middle of Lenovo's range and the one most students should look at first. It starts at ₹20,998 for 6GB + 128GB with Wi-Fi, a version that has the Lenovo Tab Pen in the box, and runs to ₹27,999 for 8GB + 256GB with 5G.

The money buys an 11-inch 2.5K LCD at 90Hz, four Dolby Atmos speakers, the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, a 7,040 mAh battery with 20W charging and a microSD slot that takes up to 2TB. It is 6.99 mm thick and weighs 480 g, and Lenovo promises two Android upgrades, to Android 17, with security patches until 2029.

The catch is the screen's 500 nits, dim next to the 800 nits of the Idea Tab Plus, and an entry-level chip. Mind the price ladder too: the 8GB + 256GB Wi-Fi version costs ₹4,000 more than the 6GB one and comes without the pen. The Lenovo Tab is ₹5,000 cheaper, but its smaller 1920 x 1200 screen and weaker chip make the Idea Tab the better buy.
