How we test

The best-value Samsung phones in India today are the Galaxy M17 5G under ₹20,000, the Galaxy A36 5G at ₹36,999, the Galaxy A56 5G at ₹44,999 and the Galaxy S25 FE at ₹59,999. The one to skip is the newer Galaxy S26 FE, which costs ₹20,000 more than the Galaxy S25 FE for the same screen, battery and camera layout. Prices are starting prices on The Synap’s phone pages on 19 October 2026.

Which Samsung phone is the best value at each budget?

Buy by price band, not by series letter. Samsung’s A, M and F phones often share the same chip and screen (our guide to the A, M and F letters explains why), so the cheapest of a matching trio is usually the one to take.

Budget Buy this Starting price Why
Under ₹20,000 Galaxy M17 5G (6GB for ₹22,999) ₹19,999 Super AMOLED screen and a stabilised main camera at the lowest price
Around ₹37,000 Galaxy A36 5G ₹36,999 45W charging, IP67 and 8GB of RAM for ₹1,000 more than the Galaxy A27 5G
Around ₹45,000 Galaxy A56 5G ₹44,999 Sharper ultrawide and a year more of security updates than the A36
Around ₹60,000 Galaxy S25 FE ₹59,999 Telephoto camera, IP68 and seven OS updates
Flagship, smaller Galaxy S25 ₹74,999 ₹28,000 less than the Galaxy S26
Flagship, no limits Galaxy S26 Ultra ₹1,54,999 200MP camera, S Pen and 60W charging

Which Samsung should you buy under ₹20,000?

The Galaxy M17 5G, at ₹19,999 for 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen at 90Hz, a stabilised 50MP main camera, IP54 splash protection and a promise of six OS updates. Take the 6GB version at ₹22,999 if you can: 4GB is thin for that long a software life, according to our page.

The Galaxy M17e 5G is ₹1,500 cheaper at ₹18,499 and has a 6,000 mAh battery, but its screen is an HD+ LCD and its main camera has no optical stabilisation. Buy it only if battery capacity is your priority. Poor value: the Galaxy F17 5G at ₹23,499 and the Galaxy A17 5G at ₹27,999 share the Galaxy M17 5G’s chip, screen and cameras, so you pay ₹3,500 and ₹8,000 more for a different name on the box.

Which Samsung should you buy around ₹37,000?

The Galaxy A36 5G, at ₹36,999 for 8GB of RAM and 128GB. It has a 6.7-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED screen, 45W charging, IP67 protection and six promised OS updates. Security updates run to March 2031, according to our page. The 256GB version at ₹40,999 is the better buy, because storage is the one thing you cannot add later.

The Galaxy A27 5G is newer and starts at ₹35,999, but that is for 6GB of RAM, with 25W charging and IP64 protection. Against the Galaxy A36 5G, ₹1,000 less costs you RAM, charging speed and water resistance. The Galaxy M47 5G costs ₹37,999 and adds a 6,000 mAh battery with 45W charging; Samsung raised its price by ₹2,000 recently, as we reported when the A27, M47 and F70 Pro prices went up. The Galaxy F70 Pro 5G costs exactly the same and is the same phone on paper, so pick by colour.

Phone Base version Next version up Charging Water rating
Galaxy A27 5G ₹35,999 (6GB + 128GB) ₹40,999 (8GB + 128GB) 25W IP64
Galaxy A36 5G ₹36,999 (8GB + 128GB) ₹40,999 (8GB + 256GB) 45W IP67
Galaxy M47 5G ₹37,999 (6GB + 128GB) ₹41,999 (8GB + 128GB) 45W Not listed
Version prices and specs from The Synap’s phone pages, 19 October 2026. The A27 and M47 upgrade steps add RAM, not storage.

Which Samsung should you buy under ₹50,000?

The Galaxy A56 5G, at ₹44,999 for 8GB + 128GB, or ₹48,999 for 256GB. It has a 120Hz Super AMOLED screen, a 50MP stabilised main camera, a 12MP ultrawide, IP67 and six OS updates. Security updates run to March 2032 on the Galaxy A56 5G and on the Galaxy A57 5G, so the extra ₹18,000 for the Galaxy A57 5G at ₹62,999 mostly buys a thinner body.

The Galaxy A37 5G at ₹46,999 is the one to be careful with. It adds IP68 and newer software, but its ultrawide camera drops to 8MP, and its 12GB + 256GB version at ₹63,999 costs more than the Galaxy A57 5G with the same storage. If you want to compare the two cheaper picks side by side, use our Galaxy A36 5G vs Galaxy A56 5G page. For other brands in this range, see the best phones under ₹40,000.

Is the Galaxy S25 FE better value than the Galaxy S26 FE?

Yes. The Galaxy S25 FE starts at ₹59,999 for 8GB + 128GB and ₹69,999 for 256GB. The Galaxy S26 FE starts at ₹79,999, and only in 8GB + 256GB. Both have a 6.7-inch 120Hz screen, a 4,900 mAh battery, 45W wired and 15W wireless charging and a 50MP, 12MP and 8MP camera layout. The Galaxy S26 FE adds a newer Exynos 2500 chip and launched on Android 17. Both are promised seven OS updates, and the Galaxy S25 FE, with its Exynos 2400, is IP68.

The layout is unchanged, so ₹10,000 over the 256GB Galaxy S25 FE is a lot to pay for a newer chip. Our compare page puts the two side by side. Note that 128GB is small for a phone that films in 8K, so the ₹69,999 version is the sensible pick.

Phone Base price 256GB price Step up costs
Galaxy A36 5G ₹36,999 ₹40,999 ₹4,000
Galaxy A56 5G ₹44,999 ₹48,999 ₹4,000
Galaxy A37 5G ₹46,999 ₹54,499 ₹7,500
Galaxy S25 FE ₹59,999 ₹69,999 ₹10,000
Starting and 256GB prices from The Synap’s phone pages, 19 October 2026. 8GB RAM in each version.

Which Samsung flagship should you buy?

Buy last year’s Galaxy S25 or Galaxy S25 Ultra unless you specifically want something the S26 range adds. The Galaxy S26 costs ₹1,02,999 for 12GB + 256GB, has a 6.3-inch screen and a 4,300 mAh battery, and is the small flagship in the lineup. The Galaxy S25 costs ₹74,999, which is ₹28,000 less, with a 4,000 mAh battery and the same camera layout.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra costs ₹1,54,999 for 12GB + 256GB, or ₹1,74,999 for 512GB. It has a 200MP main camera, two telephoto lenses, a built-in S Pen and 60W charging, and Samsung promises seven OS updates. Its battery is 5,000 mAh, the same as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which costs ₹1,19,999 and keeps the S Pen and both zoom lenses. That is ₹35,000 less. The Galaxy S26 Ultra earns its premium through a brighter f/1.4 main lens and a newer chip, not anything most buyers would miss.
