Is it any good?
The P55 is a 2024 phone that has aged into a bargain: itel lists it at ₹6,999 for 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the cheapest 8GB phone in its current India range. It is for someone who keeps lots of apps open and does not need 5G.
The money also buys a Unisoc T606, a 6.56-inch HD+ punch-hole screen at 90Hz, a 50MP main camera, an 8MP selfie camera, a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging over USB-C, dual-band Wi-Fi and Android 13.
The catch is age. It launched in February 2024 on Android 13, and itel publishes no update promise, so it is further along its software life than itel's newer phones. The S23 lists the same chip and memory for ₹1,200 more, which makes this the one to pick.
