Our take

Is it any good?

The A100 is itel's basic tough phone, sold through itel's retail stores at ₹7,899 for 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It is a sensible first smartphone or a backup phone for someone who mostly calls, chats and watches videos.

The money buys a 6.56-inch HD+ screen at 90Hz, a Unisoc T7100, a 5,000 mAh battery with USB-C charging, an 8MP main camera, side fingerprint unlock, a DTS-tuned speaker, an infrared blaster for the TV and AC, and itel's UltraLink calling over Bluetooth when there is no signal. itel rates it to the MIL-STD-810H toughness standard.

The catch is its older sibling. The City 100 costs ₹300 less and brings 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a 5,200 mAh battery with 18W charging and an IP64 rating, against this phone's 10W. The A100 is newer and runs Android 15 Go, but on paper the City 100 is the better buy.
